Data Science at the service of Medicine 3.0

For years, I optimized algorithms, but ignored the most important machine: my own body.

Climbing the hyper-competitive tech ladders of high-stakes investment banking and Silicon Valley backed tech unicorns - moving across continents from England to Singapore - I achieved what most would consider peak success. But behind the titles and the equity, my biological systems were crashing. Sleep and nutrition were an optional, mental clarity was fueled by caffeine, and my physical resilience was in rapid decline. I had successfully engineered my career while systematically destroying my health.

The turning point came when I took the helm of the AI team at Frontiers, one of the world's leading scientific publishers. Suddenly, I wasn't just surrounded by code; I was in the room with the world's foremost medical minds and researchers (from Harvard to the Chinese Academy of Sciences). It was here that I had a profound realization. I saw firsthand that modern healthcare (Medicine 2.0) is fundamentally broken. It waits for the machine to break down - waiting for the heart attack, the cancer, the cognitive decline - before intervening. It's reactive, generalized, and tragically late. I realized we need Medicine 3.0: proactive, highly personalized, and relentlessly focused on extending not just lifespan, but healthspan.

The Systemic Gap

As I spoke with these brilliant specialists, I saw a glaring systemic gap. Researchers and doctors possess incredibly deep, focused knowledge in their specific domains, but there is no infrastructure to connect these silos. There was no instrument to systematically and incrementally track a human being's health trajectory over decades. Medicine lacked the very thing tech relies on: a unified data model and real-time monitoring.

I treated my failing health as a complex data problem. I immersed myself completely in the science of longevity, devouring peer-reviewed literature with the same insatiable hunger I used to learn data science. I realized my lack of a traditional medical background wasn't a weakness; it was a key asset. I wasn't bound by the dogmas of clinical practice; I was free to build a system from the ground up.

As a product manager, I spent years building the kind of optimization algorithms that keep millions of people engaged on platforms like Instagram or TikTok. I know exactly what it means to hyper-optimize a tech product: you define a core metric, you relentlessly track the data, and you run continuous A/B tests until the system performs flawlessly. I simply took that exact same science of hyper-optimization and pointed it inward—at my own biology. I treated my sleep, my VO2 max, and my metabolic markers as the ultimate product metrics to be optimized.

I built that system for myself first. I tracked, modeled, and optimized my own biomarkers, pulling myself out of the physical deficit my career had created. But as I watched my own parents age, and saw friends in their 30s and 40s accepting chronic fatigue and metabolic decline as "normal," my perspective shifted. What started as a personal survival mechanism became a moral imperative. I realized that the tools to delay disease and extend vitality shouldn't be locked behind the doors of Silicon Valley billionaires or fragmented across isolated medical journals.

My approach is strictly analytical, no dogmas. I apply the rigorous, deterministic frameworks used to build world-class tech products to human physiology. Rather than relying on generalized medical advice, I build mathematical models to quantify health goals, track longitudinal biomarker trends, and systematically optimize physiological performance.
